How to Assemble a Log Periodic UHF/VHF TV Antenna
You need to prepare carefully if you are planning to assemble a log-periodic UHF/VHF TV antenna on your own.

Basic Steps

    • Open the pole clamp wide to get into the pole
    • Lower your TV antenna to the top of the pole
    • Make sure screws are finger-tight for the antenna to grip into the pole, but make sure it’s loose enough to be moved easily
    • Align the TV antenna with the nearest TV transmission tower
    • Tighten the antenna pole clamp so that the TV antenna can’t easily be moved by hand. However, do not over-tighten as this might cause problems in the long run
    • Run a length of cable through the entry hole in the roof, just enough to reach the splitter location
    • Cut the cable at a sufficient length to reach the antenna cable connector of the TV.

Clear UHF reception needs more attention to antenna installation and the set tuning compared to VHF reception. Enhancing UHF reception could be a DIY job, but measuring transmission signal strength, determining antenna orientation, and the location of transmission towers can complicate the process.

Things to Keep in Mind When Installing Antennas

Heed local regulations and restrictions
Fumes are dangerous to the aluminium parts of the antenna
Avoid connecting installing the antenna onto a working chimney
The shorter the length of the antenna lead, the less signal is being lost
Do not allow obstructions such as buildings to hinder the line of sight from the antenna to the TV tower
Higher is better. Make sure the antenna is at least 6 to 8 feet above the roof

Of course, if all this is too much, just give us a call and our professional team can take care of it all for you.
